Christina Weese is an artist, designer and photographer who lives with her husband and two sons near Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. Her work deals with landscape, identity stories, and family memory. She uses photography to inform and enrich her painting practice.

Christina holds a three-year Visual Communications diploma from Medicine Hat College, and a Bachelor of Design with honours from the University of Alberta. She spent a summer working for the University’s art archives, and was especially fond of the Japanese print collection. After working for a while in corporate, she embarked on a twenty-five year career as a freelance graphic designer and professional photographer.

Her artistic interests include water-soluble media such as watercolours, crayons and pencils. egg tempera, collage, printmaking, book design, and the overlap of digital and traditional ways of storytelling.

Christina has been a horse trainer, field worker, racetrack groom, riding instructor, documentary photographer, magazine producer, and equine bodyworker. She lives and works on Treaty 6 territory, traditional homeland of the Cree, Dakota, Nakota, and Saulteaux, and home of the Métis Nation.
