I was excited to find out that my photographic collage, Rod and Max Play Scrabble, was accepted into the Saskatchewan Craft Council’s Dimensions 2025 show in the Photography category. Dimensions 2025 had a record 222 pieces submitted by Saskatchewan artists; 35 pieces were chosen by jurors Brendan Lee Satish Tang and Wally Dion for the final show.

This is what I wrote about Rod and Max Play Scrabble for the exhibition: “We live on such a thin bit of soil laid over the earth. We lay things down and pick them up again, transformed. We don’t know what will come up, but we do our best regardless. While we wait for transformation, sometimes we play Scrabble. This piece uses collage, mixed media and Letraset over textured paper. The top layer of a landscape photo has been separated from its backing paper and pasted down.”

Another neat thing that happened was that my piece sold prior to the printing of the exhibit booklet, so it got to be marked SOLD in the book!
